OOTD: Lace On Top

You may have seen that I picked up this lacy top last weekend at Zara on sale for $29.99 from $59.90 (I had my eye on it for awhile but didn't take the plunge, hoping for a sale!)

I wore it on Monday and I absolutely loved it.  Someone even asked me "why I was so dressed up on a Monday?"  I think this top has a dressier vibe and I love that it's a bit cropped because it looks great paired with a high-waisted pencil skirt.

Top- Zara
Tank (underneath)- Target
Skirt- Banana Republic
Shoes- Kate Spade
Necklace- NY Light Metals on Etsy.com

Weekend Shopping: Kate Spade

If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I've really been struggling with my anxiety lately and I really really (really) hate to admit that to myself and to everyone around me.

I work extremely hard to keep my anxiety levels at bay and usually I am very successful at it.  Lately though, some things have been happening that are out of my control (nothing to do family, no worries) and there is nothing I can do about it and it leaves me feeling like I'm walking on eggshells all the time, which completely and totally sucks.

So yeah, there's that.  I've been so busy lately too, which has obviously contributed to my anxiety since I've been getting less sleep.

So, this weekend was all about taking it easy and relaxing. I am catching up on sleep, enjoying yummy food and hanging out with my H.

My H and I went to the Galleria on Saturday because he wanted to get some TOMS shoes (so for the person who leaves me inquisitive formspring questions about "why I never buy my husband anything", believe me, he gets what he wants---yep, just like the honey badger!) I bring you, exhibit A:

I also picked up a little something special for myself. As soon as I saw them online, I knew I had to have them. They ignited a spark in me and I couldn't stop thinking about them until I saw them in person.

Oh that pretty pink bag....

Aren't they just so...beautiful?  I don't own anything even remotely close to these, so they were a great addition to my collection.  You can buy them here, or in a Kate Spade store near you!

I have gotten a few requests to show what my new Tiffany & Co. bracelets look like ON, and I'm more than happy to oblige!  I absolutely love them!

That's it for today.  I also bought two books, one about anxiety (because I obviously I need it) and I also bought "Naturally Thin" by Bethenny Frankel because I have such a deep girl crush on her, that it hurts a little.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend and DON'T FORGET TO ENTER MY CONTEST!

Thanks so much for reading!

xoxo,

Veronika.

Oh, and as a last thought for this post, here are two of my favorite quotes that are extremely relevant to my life right now:

"When someone belittles you, they are being little" (Joel Osteen)

"PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID, OR WHAT YOU SAID BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL

OOTD: Bringing Back the Giraffe Dress

I haven't taken this dress out of my closet since last summer!  Now that it's sunny here (and by sunny, I mean incredibly hot on humid) I feel more comfortable wearing color. After a winter of wearing all black, all the time, infusing color back into my life feels really refreshing (like spring cleaning!)

Dress- LOFT
Cardigan- Express
Shoes- Max Studio from Zappos.com

Once again this week, I've been blogging later at night because I've been working out everyday after work.  I'm really, really proud to announce this---I did my first push-up without being on my knees this week.  I never thought I'd be able to accomplish that and I did----and today, in class, I did an hour-long workout that involved tons of push ups, and I did them all without going on my knees!  I can't go down as low as I can when I'm on my knees, but it's a start.  My trainer was really proud too, because I told him that it's something I was hoping to accomplish when I first started training with him.

One more update---I started using Latisse this week. I'm pretty sure it's psychological, but I feel like my lashes are already longer (I'm sure they aren't but you know, wishful thinking.)  I am going to take pictures without eye makeup so you all can see the "before" lashes and then I'll post progress photos at 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, etc.  I used the special rebate they had this month, so I am getting another vial of it for free!

And finally, I don't want you ladies to miss out on this one---if you have a Kate Spade Outlet near you, make sure you go this weekend, because:

I hope everyone is enjoying their week.  What are everyone's Easter plans, if you celebrate?  We are going to spend it with my husband's parents. Can't wait for some family time!

Veronika.

OOTD: Shades of White

Happy Friday Ladies!

I had a TV segment to coordinate today, so no casual Friday for me.  I wanted to keep it light though, so I decided to go for an all white/cream ensemble.  I had forgotten my love for this J.Crew blouse. I haven't worn it since the winter time.  I love the neckline- it's so feminine and pretty.

Silk Top- J.Crew
Cardigan- Express
Skirt- LOFT
Bag- Kate Spade
Nude Pumps- Jessica Simpson (buy them here!)
Watch- Michael Kors

I've been thinking of having another blog sale this weekend.  I have a few items left over from the last sale and also some new items (went through my closet again).  Let me know what you ladies think! It won't be as many items as last time. I also have a pair of heels to sell this time around.  They are these great, nude patent sandals that I can't wear because although they're my size (10) they just do not fit me. I can get my foot into them but can't walk in them. They are really cute so it sucks I can't wear them (especially since nude heels are so now.)

Hope you all have an awesome weekend!  I promised I'd start my clean-out and organization this weekend so I'm looking forward to getting all of that done.

OOTD: Black Zara Dress & Blog Sale Update

OMG ya'll!!! I just spent an hour taking pics of my blog sale clothes and I'm about to collapse! My feet hurt from wearing heels all day and I think I'm coming down with something. I felt really "off" this morning...just low energy, nauseous, hot...now I feel a sore throat coming on...that can't be good, right? I am praying it's not going to turn into something full-fledged.

THANK YOU to all of the ladies who encouraged me to do a blog sale. I'm still working on going through all of the photos of the clothes for the blog sale but I'll tell you right now it's mostly super-adorable dresses that are TOO SHORT for me. Some of the stuff is kind of painful to sell because I love it...but if I can't wear it, then I'd rather it go to someone who can enjoy it.  I have spent many many hours over the years scouring the Forever21 racks to find the best pieces so I hope you all enjoy what I'm going to post.  I strongly encourage some of the shorter ladies to take advantage. Anyone shorter than 5'10 (my height) might be able to pull off some of these super cute dresses.

The format of the sale is going to be done through PayPal and I will quote you on shipping once you email me with your selection (it shouldn't be too much since clothes are light.)  I'm going to number and name each item, and then you can email me the item number you're interested in. It will be a first come, first served kind of deal.
I put on every garment I'm selling and did the photos like that. I think it's more helpful than it just being on a hanger because you can see how it fits on my body and go from there. Like I said, a lot of these dresses are extremely short so be prepared for some leg!!!

My best friend Candice is also going to sell some of her pieces on my blog. Hers are more designer dresses like Alice & Olivia so look out for that soon as well!

OK, now let's go back to today.  I ended up wearing my new Zara dress from the semi annual sale, my new DSW shoes and my new Express cardigan from last weekend's shopping trip.

Crystal-Button Cardigan- Express
Dress- Zara
Shoes- Calvin Klein @ DSW
Bag- Kate Spade
Skinny Belt- Forever21

Sigh. I am so glad I got that Kate Spade bag. It makes me happy everytime I see it! Yay!

Happy Monday! going to go work on the blog sale now,

xoxo,

Veronika.

Weekend Shopping: Kate Spade Cuteness, Victoria's Secret PINK & Express

Last Monday, one of my coworkers walked into our offices carrying a lovely Kate Spade small handbag and I gasped at how cute it was!  I knew I had to have it. She got it at the outlets on 290 so I waited until the weekend, praying they would still have them (the entire store is deeply discounted, so I worried they would sell out.)

Luckily, when I walked into the store today they had some left. I also saw a cute gold bag and took some photos to send to my friend to help me pick which one I should get:

I was going back and forth and then I decided on the white one (the same one as my coworker) and then just as I was about to finally make a decision, I decided to just "try on" the same purse as the white one, in bright pink. I tried to deny my love for it, but I had fallen- deeply, deeply in love with the pink handbag. It was bright, bold...exciting! It made me happy just looking at it. So that's the one I got.  I still love the white one, but I thought the pink just screamed "Veronika!" Plus, there was one ONE left in pink! IT HAD TO BE A SIGN!!!

It's such a pretty pink. Plus, it will punch up any outfit. I bought this smaller bag because I was tired of lugging around a massive handbag when I went shopping. This bag will allow my debit cards, coupons, iPhone and car keys to fit and that's all I need!  Sometimes taking a heavy bag when you're going to be shopping around for hours is such a hassle and it gets sooo heavy that my shoulder starts to hurt after awhile. Plus, the bag is perfect for a night out, too.

It's cute on the inside too! I can't wait to use it :) I still really love the white one and even the gold one I saw there, but I had to choose. The best part is, I paid for the entire bag with giftcards I got for my birthday, so it was...free!  It originally retailed for $195.00 and I got it on sale for $165.00 plus 40% off which with tax came to about $107.  Worth every penny! I absolutely love it. I don't own one Kate Spade item, so it was fun to buy something from a brand I've never owned. I don't typically go for Kate's handbags because most are too simple (and pricey!) but I just had to have this one.

Next weekend, I am helping to host a baby shower for a friend.  The girls decided on a "sports theme" party and they are asking everyone to wear their favorite sports jersey to the party. I don't even OWN a sports jersey or sports team tee shirt of any kind (not that that would be surprising to most people who read this blog.) I like to play sports, but I don't care to watch them and don't follow any teams (my husband of course, LOVES sports and does the whole fantasy football thing.)

I was kind of at a loss because I'm not really into sports or wearing sports gear (unless it's to actually work out). That all changed when I visited Victoria's Secret today. Behold:

This is about as close to a jersey as it gets for me. It's HOT in Texas and I can't even fathom buying something I'd never wear again- but this cute tee is jersey-esque and I'll wear it for working out too, so it works.

Oh, and I got free flip flops at VS today because they were having a promotion where if you buy anything from the VS PINK line, you get flip flops!  I think the tee is a nice compromise!

Next up, I got this pretty white extra long cardigan from Express. It was on sale for $39.50 but my lovely friend Candice gave me a $10 OFF coupon that she had which brought the price down (awesome!)

I love the pretty crystal buttons. It makes the cardigan more feminine. I actually don't own a white cardi so this was a nice addition to my closet.

The last thing I picked up today was a pretty glittery nail polish from Sephora. I was inspired by Lorraine (her YouTube Channel is TheCurrentCustom) to use glittery polish after seeing her have it on in several of her videos. Sometimes she just does one nail on each hand with glitter other times she puts it on all of her nails. I only plan to use it on my toes so it's not as "in your face." I got the color called "It's Bouquet With Me"which is the same one she has on in her video. I'm going to layer mine over OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark.

I'm excited to use it and I'll post photos when I've used it :)

Did you buy anything this weekend?  I am going to try not to shop for the next two weekends (for clothes and makeup, still need to buy groceries! hehe)

I don't know if I'll make it, but it's worth a try. My husband and I want to plan a vacation to Europe so I am trying to shop less so I can save my money to shop in Europe...and to uh, eat there and stuff.

Thanks for reading and hope you have a fabulous weekend!

xoxo,

Veronika.
