OOTD: The Girl in the Green Dress

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It feels weird saying that because it still feels like Monday to me, but I'm thrilled this work week will be over sooner!

I'm anxious for the weekend to get here because we've totally been dilly-dallying on selling our home and we finally contacted our Realtor to list...so this weekend I'm once again cleaning/organizing/staging the house. We've made a few cosmetic touch-ups that needed to be done already and I'm excited at the possibility of selling our home, but I'm also being realistic about the housing market right now. My best friend sold her home in less than a week, which is amazing! We hope to share the same luck!

Today I wore my green dress from Target. I still have some of my spray tan left over so I always try to wear my brighter colors when I have a bit of color.

OOTD: Mixing it Up

I've been noticing that some of my skirts feel loose on me lately....and I haven't really lost weight (at least I don't think so) but they seem to just not be as fitted as they used to be. While I'm happy my fitness is paying off and my body is getting more toned, I don't want to have to buy new skirts!  Maybe I can safety pin or clip them so they are a bit tighter at the waist.

I wore this outfit on Monday (I've been writing posts in advance which is why I'm a little behind on my days)

Top- Target
Skirt- LOFT
Cardigan- Zara
Shoes- Nine West
Necklace- F21
Watch: Michael Kors; Bracelet: Pandora

Hope you had a great day!

Shopping: Target, Zara, MAC

I usually post these on weekends, but we were so busy cleaning on Saturday and I didn't feel great Sunday so I decided to post this during the week.

I picked up a few things last Thursday when I went to the Galleria mall and a few things are from my wonderful mother in law.

Let's start with my lovely gifts from my mother in law. I was sad because I couldn't find either item below at my Target in the sizes I needed, and she was nice enough to check her Target for me and sure enough, they had em':

I also have this Mossimo top in a dark turquoise color. It fits lovely, has a racer style back and I love the little buttons and front pocket. Perfect for tucking into a skirt or wearing with skinny jeans.

This little romper from Target was too cute to resist but it was sold out everywhere in the smaller sizes, including online. My MIL was able to snag the last size small for me. It's so pretty and feminine. I believe she got in on the clearance rack, so check your local Target and you may have the same luck!

Next up, I visited Zara.  I bought a sweater and a dress---and I think it's the dress I will wear for my birthday this year:

I think the green dress is simple and pretty. I may even wear it to a beach wedding I'm going to in the fall.  Not sure yet, by then I may find something I like even more.  I'm actually on the hunt for a dressy maxi dress to wear to the wedding---since it's on the beach I think it could be lovely and I could just wear flat sandals and no one would even see my feet!

I also picked up this darling cardigan. I have been on the hunt for a neutral, oatmeal-colored cardigan for a good 3 months now. I've even bought and returned two of them that didn't quite meet the mark. This one is a keeper. I wore it on Friday and I absolutely love it.  The button detailing really adds a little something extra!}

I also picked up one of my favorite glosses at MAC---it's called "underage" and I've been wearing it for several years now. It's the perfect pinky-nude. I back-to-MAC'd this one so it was FREE!

Lastly, I picked up a pretty top from A'Gaci.  That store is a huge hit or miss for me, but this time, it was a HIT. I tried on several very cute items there---if you have one by you, definitely pay a visit to the store because they have REALLY cute summer tops, dresses, rompers etc in right now.  I was really impressed.  The shirt I got is from a higher end line they carry (a little pricier than their regular clothes) and I'm such a sucker for these peasant-style tops so when I find one this pretty I just can't resist!

I have no idea why I'm making this ugly scowl face, but here it is on, sort of:

So, that's the end of my little spree!  Hope you have a great night!

OOTD: Lucky Green Dress (Target)

Just a very quick outfit post for today. I wore the green dress I bought at Target over the weekend today and I quite liked it.  This one's a size small and be warned---the dress fits a little large. I couldn't even fill out the chest area on a size small.

The Mossimo® Women's Pleated Zip Back Dress in Jade retails for $24.99 at Target. Buy it here.

Dress- Target (Mossimo® Women's Pleated Zip Back Dress)

I get asked a lot on my formspring page to take a photo of what the back of my hair looks like and I finally remembered, so here we go:

Nothing special, but there it is!

Weekend Shopping: Mini Haul from Target & More

Happy Saturday ladies!  Today was a busy day full of errands and then we had dinner at Benjy's with H's lovely parents to celebrate Mother's Day since we will be celebrating our anniversary tomorrow (brunch, pool and massages, here we come!)

I picked up a couple of things last weekend and today so I thought I'd share really quickly.

These two bracelets are from American Eagle Outfitters and they were buy one, get the other half off. I love that they are more casual and can be mixed in with other bracelets.

I actually picked up this perfume by PACIFICA several weeks ago but I never posted about it. It's the Brazilian Mango Grapefruit Perfume Roll-On and it smells delish! For $12, it's a steal too! I also love the blood orange scent they have.

What a great color, right!? This pretty jersey dress was just $24.99 at Target! It fits pretty and it's so soft and comfy. I got a size small and on my 5'10 frame the length is still work-appropriate.  I love the draping at the front.

I also picked up this amazing silk top with a racerback and front buttons. I also plan to get it in the grey and white pattern, but they only had one left in the entire store so I'll have to check other Target stores in my area.  I got a size small in this too as it fits a little large. It's a little darker than it's photographing. It's the perfect top for tucking into skirts. I'm thrilled I got it and may even get it in all of the colors it comes in!

I am kind of over the ruffles-all-over-the-place look so this is a nice, sleek alternative. Don't get me wrong, I love me a ruffle, but it seems like they have been around for so long now that retailers are over-doing it and there's less and less subtly-ruffled stuff available.  How do you feel about ruffles? Are you over them?

xoxo,

Veronika.

PS- I will try to post about our anniversary tomorrow! I did get my gift early and I'm so excited to share it with you :)

OOTD: Blue Lace

Today I wore a dress I got at Target a few weeks ago when I was in a shopping slump.  I'm really glad I decided to get it because it brightened my day a little and it's just too cute.  It's by the MERONA line. The lacey cap sleeves are my favorite part! Oh, and it's NOT black! It's like a navy/royal blue mix:

Dress- Merona @ Target
Belt- J. Crew
Shoes- Jessica Simpson
I just got back from one of my fitness classes and let me tell you y'all, it was INTENSE tonight.  The first half of the class consisted of cardio exercises that focused on using a bosu ball, then we did 2 flights of stairs 8 times over, and then we did a combo of punching bags and weight lifting stuff with 8 different stations, with 4 minutes at each station. One of the girls in our class wears a heart rate monitor, and she burned 630 calories in the 1 hour class!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

OOTD: Sunday Brunch

Since we missed Christmas with family this year, H and I invited his parents to Sunday brunch at this great local place where they've got everything from bacon and omelets to pastries and chocolate-covered strawberries.

I wore my favorite top from Target. I bought it right before our trip to Paris and I wore the heck out of it while we were gone (like kind of a gross amount of times).

I wore it to brunch today with boots and leggings. It's just the perfect top because it's super-long and so soft and comfy, but because it's fitted it looks chic instead of frumpy.

Wool Coat- Zara
Tunic Top- Target---buy it here---(thanks Sally for posting the link!)
Boots- Jessica Simpson (buy them here)
Tights- Lulu Lemon Wunder Under Pintuck

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

xoxo,

Veronika.

PS--- check out Lulu opening his own Christmas present from his grammy and grampy!

Weekend Shopping: Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Target

This is my second blog in a day---I love coming here.  I love that every time I open my inbox I'm met with such beautiful, wonderful and kind comments. Thank you a thousand times over.

As I mentioned earlier, Candice and I went to Forever 21 today at Baybrook mall which is a drives away for us, but well worth it. Once again I tried on a ton of clothes and only bought a few items (pretty sure the fitting rooms girls think we're crazy when we come in with all of those clothes.)

I also returned my American Eagle parka and a black and white lace top from Forever 21 that I had purchased previously.  I try to keep all of my receipts now because I find myself returning more things than I used to.  I like to try to make smart purchasing decisions but if I have a few misses at least I know I can return them.

Here's what I got today (I also went to Target and a few other stores):
$2 holiday knee socks from Target

Black dress from Forever 21--- looks more expensive than it is, in person.  It's more like a longer tunic length on me, must be worn with tights or leggings. I think it cost $27.80. I got a size Large, for extra length.

Black peasant-style top from Forever 21. It looks so lovely on and the sleeves are pretty too, when worn.  I got a size Medium and I think it was $24.80.

Black circle scarf (from Forever 21)--- $8.80. I got this for my Slovakia trip and for Paris.  I LOVE circle scarves because you don't have to worry about the ends of your scarf sticking out.  It's so comfy and you can wrap it around your neck over and over.

Hat---Charlotte Russe, $10.80.  I love the looser sort of beret-style hats.  I think this will look chic with my black jacket.

Extra-long white tank--- $9.80, Forever 21, size Medium---this is great for working out and it's so long that you can wear it over leggings too. Great for ladies who want to cover their butt while wearing leggings. I just love these extra-long tops.

Pink Gloves---Merona, at Target, $10.99.  I got these for our trip.  I needed mittens and I just love these pink ones. I'm still looking for black ones too.

That's everything for today.  I still have to make a trip to Sephora tomorrow morning, so I'll post what I get when I get back.

Thanks for reading---for being so supportive---and for bringing such a positive energy into my life during this tough time.  Before I go, I wanted to show you a few cute pics of Lulu's haircut. He is SO tiny looking now!

Before (fluffy maniac!)

After (hairless wonder!)

We always laugh because he looks like a little lion after his haircuts. He is not very happy for the first few days afterward!

and...more peony gorgeousness (thank you again Jamie, from the bottom of my heart!)
